Meet Dr. Dennis Mahan

Dr. Dennis M. Mahan was born and raised in Long Island, New York. He attended State University of New York at Stony Brook. Following graduation he attended University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine in Philadelphia. After earning his DMD degree, Dr. Mahan received a commission in the United States Navy.

In the Navy, Dr. Mahan served as a general dentist for 6 years before entering the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery residency at University of Illinois Chicago and then at Northwestern University. During his career he has provided dental care from the Great Lakes through the Arabian Gulf and in to the South Pole region. He is knowledgeable in all aspects of oral surgery with special focus on dental implants and orthognathic surgery.

Dr. Mahan has been in Jacksonville for more than 10 years at the Naval Air Station where he recently retired after 30 years in the Navy. Happy to call Jacksonville and St. Augustine his home, he has entered into private practice with Jax Multispecialty Dental Center.

As a dedicated husband and father of two. Dr. Mahan has many interests outside of his oral surgery specialty, he also enjoys kayaking and fishing.
